NOH TAMURA: THE BLESSINGS OF KANNON, THE BODHISATTVA OF MERCY

We invite acclaimed Waki-kata performer, Arimatsu Ryōichi, for our first webinar. He will discuss Tamura “The Blessings of Kannon, the Bodhisattva of Mercy” using photographs from a recent performance, and will also answer questions in real time. Tamura is an acclaimed work dealing with the supernatural, and Arimatsu brings to it his unique strengths as a Waki-kata performer, his expertise as a scholar of medieval Japanese poetry, and his experience in the creation of contemporary Noh works. Approaching Noh from various angles, he will bring insight and enjoyment to everyone, including those who are new to the transcendent art of Noh.
